Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur. You can use this method on different versions of Windows. Open the Group Policy Management Console. Windows Messenger Service was removed for Vista and Windows 7 as a security precaution. Hackers were utilizing it in malicious manners. Nthng like that is available. After auto updating, Messenger added itself to startup and now launches a window every time you start up your system. This is not ok, but I expect that kind of non consensual invasion from facebook; however, it should NOT be permitted by microsoft.
