Mts file canon vixia

So I've switched to using the SDHC card class 6 to record data, and it works a charm - 2 minutes of video transfer in 21 seconds. It actually managed to mess up my computer so much that I had to uninstall it and do a system reset to get things back on track. That's the advice of a relatively uninformed person who is not new to video but is relatively new - so take it for what it's worth.

I know that all these Vixia devices have USB plug and when they connect to a computer, they appear exactly as an external disk. I don't have a Windows machine, but I tried once connecting a HF to it and it showed up as an E: drive. On a Mac, they just appear as an external volume on the desktop. Either way, you can access the entire file system there and copy files over the same way you copy files onto your USB thumbdrive.

I have never had the need to install that Pixela disc package is still sealed , so I don't even know what it does and how it works. I do my stuff mostly in iMovie.

MTS playlist file would need to be converted into a more acceptable format for your editor. View solution in original post. When video is uploaded to a laptop the format is. Photoshop Elements recognizes. Right now I have to convert the. MTS format is a playlist file that keeps associated clips together so it is necessary to be in this format until it is being edited or organized on the computer.

Unfortunately there is not a way to change this in the camera. OK, I am good with that - The. MTS format is a playlist file that keeps associated clips together so it is necessary to be in this format -- UNTIL -- it is being edited or organized on the computer. My question is what format does the file need to be in so it can be edited or organized on the computer?

There were two files available for download,. MTS and something else. Tried that other file, didn't work, tried the. MTS file, it worked but have to convert to. This works but is time consuming. Just need to know how to upload a file from the camcorder that can be edited in PE. If the camcorder records in. The key here is :Most editors can already read the. I will try importing and dropping the video files into the video time line and see what happens.

Never did that. After uploading files to the computer tried to open the file with PE but it wouldn't open it. Wasn't aware that Photoshop Elements could be used for video editing. By chance do you mean Adobe Premiere Elements? I have burned a number of DVDs before with various files and didn't think the video files would not be searchable by my current programs. I thought my Adobe Premiere or Nero would work.

I am thinking that all I need to do is upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Premiere which I would be willing to do if it will work.

I have added my computer details. Thanks in advance. I have a Canon HF that I bought a little over a year ago with some serious misgivings after reading all the negative comments here about editing AVC; however, I was so impressed with the image quality that I figured I would work around it.

It does a decent job of editing for home use and allows you to make an AVC encoded DVD that will play in many Blu Ray players with really impressive quality. It also gives you the option of editing and then converting to standard DVD format. Most of these programs offer a free trial that you can download before buying.

AVCHD is a beast and it gets grief because it is legitimately difficult to work with. But you've got Premiere and you can use intermediate formats.. You just need to have a good bit of extra hard drive space and the more processing power the better. Last edited by greymalkin; 19th Feb at Thanks gabriel Thanks gremalkin When you say intermediate formats what do you mean? Its great for avchd editing.

You'll love it. It also comes with an itermediary codec if you prefer to edit in HD avi. Very fast and quality is excellant. With I7 or other quad cores compression is half realtime. I love it. Originally Posted by Megan Last edited by edDV; 19th Feb at Contact Us VideoHelp Top.
